To say where I am from was never a simple task, the feelings of belonging and of displacement have always been present in my life, shuffled. Habitat is a quest for my hometown, my origins. A mosaic of references, of visual and affective memories that transform the past as we advance in the city that reveals itself. A reunion with an untold story and a past that I have never lived. Italo Calvino’s book inspired the creative process for Habitat. The images of this project were created by merging the photographs taken in New York, my birth city, with pictures captured in Rio de Janeiro, the city where I've lived my whole life.
